Top 10 Disney Saturday Morning Series

Top 10 Disney Saturday Morning Series

1. Fillmore!- This series parodies hard-boiled police dramas by using a comically large middle school's safety patrol at its center. I remembered this as the first Saturday morning show I couldn't wait to get up and see. After recently buying the Complete Series DVD, I can say the show still holds up today.
2. Teacher's Pet-  The only of the Saturday Morning series to get a movie (not including Hercules and 101 Dalmatians), Teacher's Pet is a unique and funny series. The voice cast is stellar (Jerry Stiller and Nathan Lane), and the series highly improbable plot just makes the series more fun to enjoy.

3. Teamo Supremo- Who didn't love Teamo Supremo. Teamo Supremo had to be one of the most loved Saturday morning toons of its era. The show was a humorous look at the world of superheroes who were the most unlikely heroes of all.

4. Recess- Another great Disney series that still holds up to this day. Every character was well written and the show really showed the hierarchy of the playground. It had a great ensemble cast of characters and a lot of the side characters stole the show. Truly one of the best Disney shows ever.

5. Lloyd in Space- From the creators of Recess, this series follows the struggles of Lloyd, an alien who lives on a space station where his mom is in charge and he always gets himself into trouble. The series is well written and fun, and I still recommend this show today.

6. Pepper Ann- Man, was this girl too cool for 7th grade. Pepper Ann was really Disney TVA's first female protagonist. Pepper Ann was a funny show and a lot of its staff went on to create other great shows (Fillmore!). My only problem is what heck is Moose? (That cannot be a girl!)

7. The Weekenders- 4 best friends hang out with each other on the weekend. The show had a simple plot but was genuinely enjoyable, it almost had a Friends vibe. The show was entertaining and growing up I especially enjoyed the running gag about the Pizza place. The Weekenders is exactly the kind of show you want to start your weekend with.

8. House of Mouse- House of Mouse has to be the coolest idea for a Mickey Mouse show. A club that all the Disney characters go to that plays Disney shorts all night? That's cool. The show really gave younger kids an appreciation for the classic Disney shorts as well as introduced them to a whole slew of characters you never thought you'd meet. Two ears up.

9. Buzz Lightyear of Star Command- This seems to be one of the most forgotten shows ABC One Saturday Morning aired. Buzz Lightyear of Toy Story fame was transformed into a 2D space ranger for this clever action show. Although the series was made to profit off the Toy Story films, I can't help to think the series would've been great on its own.

10. Hercules: The Animated Series- Hercules is one of my favorite Disney movie characters, and this series following his high school adventures has to be my favorite Disney movie spin-off series. Icarus was a great character to add to the series, and I really enjoyed the stories told on the show. Hercules had to be included on this list.
